How to Drink More Water

Water is a crucial element for our bodies, just like the fuel we put in our cars to keep them running smoothly. Our bodies use water to perform many essential functions, such as digestion, circulation, and temperature regulation. However, it is easy to forget to drink enough water throughout the day. Here are some simple tips to help you drink more water and stay healthy! 

  1. Invest in a water bottle and keep it with you! It is convenient, eco-friendly and can serve as a reminder to drink your water when you see it. Choose a bottle that you like and that is easy to carry with you! We recommend this one, 
  1. Download a water tracking app or set reminders on your phone. You are busy and you can lose track of time as you go throughout your day. You can set goals to hit by a certain time of day. We recommend setting a reminder every hour!  
  1. Spice up your water! Drinking water doesn’t have to be boring. Add slices of fruit, berries, herbs or mint and cucumber to your water to create a delicious drink! This adds a hint of flavor without any added sugar!  
  1. Drink water while exercising. Stay hydrated and replenish the sweat you lose during a workout. Take small sips and carry a bottle with you.  
  1. Drink water before or during meals. This can help with digestion and can help prevent overeating.  
  1. Use a straw. Using a straw can make drinking water more enjoyable. It may also encourage you to take more sips throughout the day and increase your hydration. 
  1. Pay attention to your body. Your body will give you hints to drink. Pay attention to when you are thirsty and the color of your urine. Dark yellow urine can indicate dehydration and you will want to drink some water to help aleviate that.  

Remember making slight changes like drinking more water and staying hydrated can have a significant impact on your body. It will help you feel more energized throughout the day. So, grab a water bottle and start sipping!
